DESCRIPTION

 

The laboratory carries out research on the techniques and technologies applicable in the cultivation of new varieties of apricot, peach and nectarine species, as well as the behavior of apple and cherry varieties in the Bucharest area. Also, in order to meet the farmers, the laboratory staff pursues the differentiated application of cuts and the use of different crown shapes for the varieties planted in the southern area of ​​Romania, in order to expand their production;

Activitatea laboratorului acoperă și cercetarea, monitorizarea și identificarea speciilor de dăunători și agenți patogeni ai pomilor și arbuștilor fructiferi și identificarea soluțiilor de gestiune eficient economic a acestei provocări importante din plantațiile pomicole. 

 

The issues addressed in the agrotechnics laboratory:

  • Stabilirea unor secvențe tehnologice pentru înființarea plantațiilor pomicole;
  • Stabilirea tehnologiilor de cultură la principalele specii pomicole și arbuști fructiferi, respectiv a sistemelor și tehnologiilor de cultură (distanțe de plantare, forma de coroană, tăieri);
  • Research on the influence of soil maintenance methods on the orchard ecosystem with special regard to the use of herbicides;
  • Utilizarea eficientă a surselor de apă prin promovarea tehnologiilor cu consum redus şi eficienţă maximă prin utilizarea tehnologiilor moderne de irigare localizată: picurare în vederea stopării sau reducerii semnificative a fenomenului de deşertificare manifestat puternic în ultimii ani.
  • The study of new varieties from the apricot, peach and nectarine species in the pilot plots (production potential, quality parameters), as well as the behavior of the apple and cherry varieties in the Bucharest area.

Within SCDP Băneasa Bucharest, there is a laboratory that performs the specific determinations for evaluating the respective soil quality: determination of soil pH; determination of humus and dosage of organic carbon; measuring the total content of soluble salts; colorimetric determination of easily soluble phosphates; determination of hydrolytic acidity and sum of exchangeable bases.

Also in the laboratory, evaluations are carried out regarding the quality of the fruits by determining the specific indices, respectively: fruit weight, diameter, sugar content, pH, dry matter and other parameters that indicate the degree of ripening and the time of fruit harvesting.
